Agunamis

Agunamis. Where art, culture and force intersect. Skateboarding is similar in that way. And it is something to be respected. Perfecting your craft while being rewarded for it is something to be respected. Whether it's in a Game of SKATE or a BEST TRICK Contest, art, culture and force converge to form something beautiful. This is skateboarding. This is Agunamis.

how agunamis works

1. In Agunamis there are two separate sets of competitions:

  • A Game of SKATE
  • Best Trick Contest

2. Entrants will compete for a cash prize in their respective tournament brackets based on age and gender:

  • Male 11-17
  • Male 18 and over
  • Female 11-17
  • Female 18 and over

3. Registration is $5 for ages 11-17 and $10 for 18+. Contestants can compete in both competitions for $5 extra dollars.

RULES (Game of SKATE)

The rules for The Game of SKATE are being completely hijacked from BATB (Why reinvent the wheel?). These rules will apply to all tournament brackets.

1. This is flat-ground only but that doesn't mean everything on flatground counts.

2. No feet on the ground so that means no no-complies

3. No handplants

4. No bonelesses

5. No grabs

6. No doing tricks that slide on the ground if your opponents have popped their trick.

7. Last letter gets 2 tries

8. Offensive toe drag get one do over

9. Defensive toe drag has a bigger margin for error but will ultimately be decided by the referee

10. Lets keep it clean, lets keep it lean. There's only gonna be one winner so let God have mercy on your soul.

11. Contestants will face-off until there is only one remaining. The winner will be crowned Agunamis and receive a cash prize.

RULES (Best Trick Contest)

The rules here are a bit less complex.

1. In the initial round, each contestant will get three (3) attempts to land their best trick.

2. A minimum of two (2) and a maximum of eight (8) will advance to the final round where they will get three (3) attempts to land their best trick.

*If necessary there will be a third round so that there will only be no more than four (4) contestants in the final round.

3. The winner of that round will be crowned Agunamis and receive a cash prize.

PRIZES

1. Male and female 11-16 winners will receive $100.

2. Male and female 18 and over winners will receive $200.

3. Over $500 in prizes will be given away!

4. There will also be free product and merchandise given away throughout the day.
